Q: How to I report a problem during the event, whether it be attending to a bathroom that’s out of tissue, someone feeling sick, or needing help from security?
A: All you have to do is simply text ‘Pop’ to 69050 and include your issue and location so we can send help there.
If we have questions our interface allows us to text you back as well as keep track of each incident to make sure it’s resolved. We’ll also have banners and signs posted in the Oracle Arena with reminders and instructions. Better yet, save this number to your phone now so you don’t have to remember it later! You can also reach out to any staff, security or EMT and they can help/direct you as appropriate. We want to make sure you or your friends get the help and support you need. Make sure to hold on too your event guide that you will receive when you enter the event which notes exiting, where our medical areas are located, and other important event related info, It is always best to go over our security, safety and general info on this site as well.
Q: What if it is raining?
A: Rain or shine the show must go on. The event is indoors but we will have a few hundred lightweight rain ponchos for those that arrive early and are waiting in line. We will also about 100 umbrellas but please share! When you get to the front of the line, be kind and pass it back please.
Q: Is the Oracle Arena indoors or outdoors?
A: It is a state of the art indoor arena but there is an outdoor cooling off area to enjoy. For your convenience, we will have umbrellas outside in that area in the case it is raining.
Q: Are there ways to win free tickets?
A: If you have not already, go to our Facebook Skills fan page and become a fan by “Liking” us to be eligible to win a pair of tickets to POP2012. One winner will be chosen each week beginning in January. You must also sign up or already be signed up on to receive our weekly eMailer
Q: What are the rules for entering?
A: You can come to the event anytime during the events hours, 5:30pm to 2am. There are no ins-and-outs, so once you enter you cannot leave and come back unless you purchase a new ticket.
Q: What time does POP2012 begin and what’s the end time?
A: Doors open at 5:30pm and the event ends at 2am.
Q: When will the time slots be posted?
A: Time slots are posted on the talent section of this site. You will also get an event guide as you enter which will have the time slots among other important show pertaining info. Join our Emailer to receive updates like set times and other important and interesting event info.
Q: Will the event guide be available before the show?
A: Yes. An online version is available here so you can download and/or print in advance. The Event guide that will be passed out upon entry will also contain this map.
Q: Where is the closest airport?
A: Oakland International Airport is only a couple of miles from the venue. Also both San Francisco and San Jose International airports are not that far away.
Q: What are the rules for promoting?
A: You can pass out fliers only at the end of the event (2am), so as people are exiting the building hand them a flier and a smile. If you get anxious and try to promote during the event or in the parking lot you will not be allowed to promote during the let out.
Q: Will there be ATMs?
A: Yes, there will be ATMs and the locations will be clearly marked on the event guide that you receive upon entry.
Q: Will there be parking?
A: There will be plenty of paid parking, over 10,000 spots. Your car cannot be left in the parking lots during non-festival hours so if your car is left in the lot it probably will be towed. There is also free parking at Bart and in the surrounding neighborhoods, but it is recommended that you park in the secured paid parking lot. Q: Can I rest in my car in the parking lot after the show ends?
A: Unfortunately not. Sleeping in cars in parking lots is just not allowed. Make sure you have a designated driver who is well rested for the drive home.

Q: Will tickets sell out?
A: We get asked this question a lot and many of our events do sell out. To ensure you don’t waste your evening by coming to a sold out show only to be turned away, we strongly recommend that you purchase a pre-sale ticket. Do not buy from scalpers. Chances are it is a fake ticket and you will be out $$ and probably very : (
Q: Will tickets be sold at the event?
A: If POP2012 does not sell out in advance, we will have tickets available at the Oracle Arena box office but keep in mind that buying day of tickets are always more expensive. We recommend you buy early and save. This event has sold out every year so again we encourage everyone to purchase tickets in advance so that you don’t risk missing out on the fun. Do not buy tickets from scalpers, it’s probably a fake ticket and only a scanner can tell for sure.
Q: When are the tickets going to go up in price?
A: They will go up in price level as allotted ticket amounts are sold, so buy early and save.
Q: The online ticket fees are really expensive. Is there a cheaper place to buy advanced tickets other than TicketMaster.com
A: Yes, you can buy at one of the 5 Bay Area outlets for only a five dollar combined service/facility fee on top of the price of the ticket. You can also pay no service charge if you purchase in person at the Oracle Arena Box Office. It’s the same place you would buy tickets for a Raiders, A’s or Golden State Warriors game. 5% facility fee will apply.
Q: I bought my ticket(s) and asked them to be shipped to me and it is getting close to the show date and I’m nervous they will not arrive in time.
A: If you have not received your tickets by the time it says you were supposed to, contact TicketMaster immediately. They are pros and will get you sorted, don’t worry.
Q: Why can’t I have tickets shipped to an address other than my billing address?
A: You can thank scammers and fraud for this rule. Tickets will only be shipped to the billing address so we can help cut down on fraud.

Q: Can I bring water bottles or food into the show?A: Sorry, no outside food or beverages are allowed. Free water will be available to you inside the venue. There will also be bottled water sold inside the venue. Please remember to keep hydrated, tell a friend.
Q: Can I bring my camera into the show?
A: We encourage you to take pictures and share them online with your friends. YES! You can bring your camera! Although, professional video cameras are not allowed.
Q: What kind of ID do I need to prove I am 18 years or older?
A: A driver’s license or ID card but it has to contain a photo and DOB. Also A U.S. or foreign passport works too. A school ID or expired ID won’t work.
Q: Can I still go to the show if I am not quite 18 but I come with a legal guardian?
A: This event is strictly 18+. Even if you look older than 18 you still need to prove you are of age.
Q: Oops, I lost my ID, what do I do?
A: If you have a passport, security will accept that. Expired IDs will only be accepted with a print out DMV doc that you get when applying for a lost/stolen card.
Q: What do I do if my ID expired and my new one won’t make it in time?
A: Just bring your expired ID and your DMV print out that proves your ID is being renewed.
Q: What are acceptable forms of ID to purchase alcohol?
A: Any U.S. driver’s license or ID card. Also, a U.S. or foreign passport will work just as good. Remember to drink responsibly.
